EssentialWhite (eW) Cove Powercore by Color Kinetics is a compact linear fixture that provides an energy-saving alternative to traditional cove lighting. This high performance fixture is designed to accommodate various applications, such as interior cove, accent, and display lighting, light boxes and other tight spaces in retail, exhibit, hospitality and architectural settings.

Some features of the eW Cove Powercore include its ability to run up to 100 units on a single circuit and to be used in both direct and track mounting.

Foscarini’s Caboche

This issue features the suspension lamps from Foscarini’s Caboche series.

Designed by Patricia Urquiola and Eliana Gerotto in 2005, the Caboche series expands Foscarini’s range with new variants of the suspension lamp, including floor, table, ceiling and wall versions.

The Caboche suspension lamp has a characteristic concentric layout that combines visual impact with lightness, furnishing ability with function. The lamp, made of transparent polymetylmetacrylate and blown glass, comes in three sizes; large, average and small.

What are eco-dimmers and how do they save energy?

Eco-dimmers are new Lutron dimmers that instantly guarantee at least 15% energy savings compared to standard switches. All eco-dim dimmers work in both single-pole or three-way applications. Note: Maestro works in single-pole and multi-location (with Maestro companion dimmers) applications.

At high-end, eco-dim dimmers top off at 85% perceived light level. Most people perceive little difference between 85% and 100% light output. As a result, you use 15% less power and experience virtually no difference in visible light. Even at the highest setting, eco-dim dimmers save at least 15% in energy and make incandescent or halogen lamps last at least three times longer, when dimmed.
